it's astonishing to see that in a big country like the USA with so much educated people all this can happen without any more public attention. That's capitalism?

not capitalism, but democracy. the plurality in usa believe the earth and mindkind were created 6000 or so years ago. finance and feeding is directed by advertising. elections are now bought and sold to the most money.

i can see representatives of my representives on local issues(the potamic river, overhead flight pattern), but none of the 6 that are close have any influence over fnf(maybe elija cummings?), so i can do nothing. in our system, money buys influence.

then we have the court, which i think is very much out of step with common sense.

i am very worried about the 5th admendment(our backstop for fnf pfds) taking clause, and scalia's decisions on it. he got the vote from the other 4 conservative justices on a couple of ugly takings, where i think the little guys got screwed. although the right wingnuts think this is because of my political views(i a eisenhower republican), it is really about the legal issue as established by the magna carta. (john and the tree and all that)
