Susie -- for the moment anyway looks like the worst impacts will be to your south ( http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/refresh/graphics_at3+shtml/180855.shtml?5day?large#contents ) -- the worst case, for you and generally, would have been with the center coming in just south of the NYC metro, as yesterday's progs indicated

all anyone can do is keep an eye on it and be prepared, try to have enough water/food/meds/TP(...)/etc on hand for a week (anyway) without power -- and if actually in a place at risk from storm surge/ocean flooding, get out in time ahead of it
