Nate Silver: Obama at 75.9% in the Now-cast

Individual polls are meaningless. Now repeat it again with me class: "Individual polls are meaningless."

Why?

Because they are single data points thru which a line can be drawn with an infinite number of slopes. Their only value comes in relationship to other data points, (i.e. other polls).

Lines matter. Points don't.

And the best line in the business now has Obama's chances at reelection, (if it were held today), at 75.9%.

Mittmentum?

That sound you heard a week ago? That was the screeching of brakes locking up.

Now we're hearing the sound of the Mittmobile shifting into reverse.

Update: Let's go a bit further here: National polls are not only meaningless, but they are pointless. A waste of money and time. If we didn't have an electoral college, they'd mean something...but we do, and they don't.
