so.. if I had a dollar.. (1.00)
in my pocket and the value of that became
$.87 (inflation).. but someone bought my dollar
for say.. $1.50 then I'd have a 150% increase and
well, by the time they bought my dollar inflation had increased and it's value had dropped to $.79, how much gain have I realized after the sale?

are we talking about my dollar's or my position here.. is this only name semantics? I mean, you folks are way ahead of me here.

If cap gains go to 50% what would I wind up paying on the transaction.. and if I put the net in an interest bearing acount for thirty years at an apr of 1.2% compounded daily.. what would the beneficiary of that account realize?.. (after their inheritance tax.. say it was at 36.5% at the time they cashed out)
