Imagine if FFGO's announcement was made...might it go something like this?
Sorry, shareholders, but due to both FFGO and NMGL management incessantly & cruelly being ridiculed and so hurtfully called scammers, we hereby cancel the dividend process and have decided to keep the mining claim sales proceeds all to ourselves.
Besides, we did clearly warn you that this cancellation could happen so don't be angry with us that you have been cheated out of being part of history with that record-setting 3499% Extraordinary Dividend. Our feelings have been crushed and we just don't have the heart to proceed with the process for even one more day.
But thanks for all those millions of investment dollars. They have helped to ease our pain and will be instrumental in our ongoing healing process....which we have found best takes place in exotic, sunny locales...far from the reach of those who might want to do us harm.
Please remember to keep us in your prayers. It's obvious that many of you still somehow care.

Of course, what they would really be saying is:
(Not that we seriously anticipate finding anyone foolish enough to ever pay that kind of money for two properties with no proven or even probable gold reserves and containing nothing but long abandoned mines, scattered old test drill holes and a bunch of dumps we have always referred to as assets. But who knows? Even when FFGO's revocation by the SEC was imminent, people held our .0001 stock, still expecting a 3500% return...and some even added to their positions. So maybe there is still hope for a buyer. This time, however, we are only looking for one, not hundreds. Of course, they will need over a quarter billion dollars in cash as payment so we can cover those NMGL Preferreds we are holding for distribution. Hmmm, on second thought...)
I completely agree with you, ctrumball...that argument is the epitome of silliness.
IMPORTANT! Shareholders are being repeatedly warned against writing off their FFGO losses at the end of the year. Before you give that idea a nanosecond of consideration, get the professional advice of a trusted broker or tax adviser and not the blatherings of anonymous message board nobodies. They obviously prefer that you listen to them rather than the pros who know best.
You might want to ask yourself why...
