the rest of the story
--------------------------
that trade i talked about ....
I was young and into options then.
Bought 16 call options for $350
in a mining stock that my broker called
a piece of sh!t -- first time he ever
commented on a trade of mine ....
sold three weeks later for $1150
tripling my money ....

TWO DAYS LATER the underlying stock
halted trading in the high 20s.
My now-sold strike price $35 options
were now on a stock that opened two days
later after a day of being halted for $55

a $350 option that tripled was worth
north of $32000 three weeks and two days
later ....

I WILL BET THAT IS THE REAL FEAR OF
EVERY BULL HERE .. NOT THE FEAR OF LOSS ...
or of ridicule ...
Its the THE FEAR OF BEING LEFT BEHIND
the demon of "If I only held on ...." .

Its like that bank commercial with the guy
just missing out on that $50000 check.....

I have had some bad losses and some good
gains but NOTHING came close to that gut-wrenching
feeling of JUST MISSING WHAT I HELD IN MY HANDS two
days before
Nothing !

Learn that and you just might have a shot.
The moment you bought into the bavi-dream you
just about blew any chance of making a rational
choice when faced with the actual probabilities
even when they become improbabilities.
Good luck to the longs -- you will need it.

part of my original post
if you are speculating on a dream then it hurts much
worse to get out early whether with a profit or a loss
than to lose out if you were right (or lucky) in the
first place ...
that is the worst part of speculating in a dream --
you cannot think clearly despite the evidence (though
with the joke that was the conference today I can still
be shocked out of my stupor)

the worst trade i ever made was when i tripled my
money in 3 week -- and this is no bs
