CoalTrain, Suitcase nukes is a popular terminology. just as easily obtainable were the 20MT weapons. These are frightening beyond comprehension. 10 of these, if they could be properly located, would essentially put an end to the United States as an economic entity. They weigh about 10,000 pounds and as such are easily deliverable by freighters or unloaded and driven inland by your average small 2 axle 6 wheel dump truck. Total destruction blast zone for a ground level detonation is over 50 miles diameter, not to mention the radiation fears which would do even more damage than the explosions. The insanity of those here who wish to inflame the ones who might do this is beyond my ability to understand. United world police actions may prevent this type of disaster. Bush is on a path to bring us this incalculable horror.

People have laughed at me for storing iodine in case of nuclear fallout. I think these folks have their heads deep in the sand. The idea that terrorists groups have ten well placed 20 MT bombs seems a bit far fetched to me. One 20 MT bomb in a freighter in the Hudson would case more than enough carnage to give Pretcher his DOW 1k or whatever his doomsday scenario was.
Even one well placed dirty bomb in the financial district would do more damage than I could imagine. My biggest worry is not that there is likely a few rouge nuclear bombs about. My problem is the denial. All during the cold war our Government was telling us to store iodine, powdered milk and other foods in a bomb shelter in case of nuclear fallout. Now with more nuclear material than ever about nothing is being done in the way of preparing for nuclear fallout. Iodine is dirt cheap and having it is the difference between life in death if a nuclear cloud comes your way. My Swiss friends tell me that the Swiss government has been encouraging people to store food and iodine since the Berlin wall came down. Our government is telling us to go out and buy duct tape. Go figure.
