ABT HCV qD vs BID dosing

I know 12 weeks sounds short, but I think a complex regimen of 5 drugs with 10 pills per day, some of which need to be taken QD and others BID is hard to swallow (no pun intended) when only slightly less efficacious fully QD options are available, potentially coformulated into a single pill. Not to mention that some of these patients are getting old enough to be on multiple other medications, and the more drugs in the cocktail, the more the risk for DDIs (inclusion of ritonavir specifically creates problems for using this in HIV co-infected patients).
