To a large extent, that does seem to be the trend. Personally, I'm not really sure if it is a good, bad, or indifferent thing. At some point there should probably be a societal debate on the issue. I'm comfortable with the notion that paperwork jobs in general are good candidates for privitization, and parole/probation jobs certainly fit that bill.

However, I wasn't berating GP collecting a paycheck based on taxpayer dollars. Some level of public service is necessary, and IMO there is nothing wrong with workers devoting their careers to it.

My objection is to GP spending his entire working life sucking on the nipple of Mother Taxpayer - all the while bitching about the size of the breast and complaining he has to share it with others.
