considering that a fair number of people are looking for the quick settlement and could be disappointed by a non-settle tomorrow, the pps may indeed drop. but a non-settle for one day, does not mean they don't settle the next day, or the next day, or the next day, all the way up to jury selection. Therefore, I'm expecting price volatility.
IMO, if not settled by jury selection time, a new element of uncertainty is added to the pps....damages and potential pain to both sides increase, b/o risk of trial loss to both sides and GOOG with a number of big downside outcomes with loss. If Quinn Emanuel is a good risk manager, and having just lost a billion $ settlement to Samsung, I'm playing the odds that they will advise some kind of non-trial settlement. I feel that VRNG will be more willing to go to trial than GOOG and have bet accordingly. (And, it is a "bet").
ps: NYT had a very good article on the patent wars today for a bigger picture.....
