Consider the market as a pendulum, it has no accumulated for the last 8 days "Potential" energy and that by itself can be converted into kinetic energy. If we had an underlying tone of improvement such as the development of a leading sector of stocks, or where stronger stocks make clear breakout and sustain these, or where pessimism would be evident in massive buying of puts and a number of other indicators, that "rest" for the last 8 trading days could be considered healthy, but no price movement, paucity of put calling paucity of new highs, very low volume etc. indicates to me that is a trap and will end violently.
