First, there wasn't a "NO FLY ZONE" at that time. Second, Bush was suckered into Powell's 'it's beyond our authority' thinking. That aside, I could just imagine the enormous outcry from folks like YOU if Bush had decided to intervene.

You seem to have a blind spot a mile wide. You are a conventional thinker. You could have commanded the Polish Calvary in the late 30s. Or engineered the Maginot Line. You were probably surprised that a terrorist could commandeer a U.S. airliner and fly it into the WTC. You were probably surprised when Timothy McVeigh demolished a federal building with a truck full of fertilizer and diesel fuel. Guess what? Saddam isn't going to fly over the continental U.S. dropping mustard gas. Wake up!
