SNY have acquired several generic companies in Central and South American the last a few years:

Sanofi-aventis had signed an agreement to acquire the Brazilian generics firm, Medley, for €500 M (US$664 M).

Sanofi also acquired Laboratorios Kendrick, a leading Mexican generics drug company.
