My intial post on Raging Bull implied that Dr. Abbitar was holding 1.5 million shares. I should have said he was granted 1.5 million options. My bad, I tried to clear that up with a follow up posting.
You're saying that he only has 500K options. How did you find this out?
My major points are that Dr. A left Quest to join HDC because he saw something he really liked. I think it's a safe assumption it is HDC's SVM-RFE that works very well for mining data in molecular diagnostic testing for cancer. And the options he is holding serve as a strong financial motivator for him. Therefore, the Neogenomics deal has the chance of bearing some nice royalties for HDC. One of the few things to be positive about with HDC lately.
I think the SVM-RFE patent is very valuable.From a laymans point of view, I don't see how Intel has a leg to stand on. But, I guess anything can happen in the wild and wacky business, political, and legal worlds.
I also think that if HDC had enough money to fight the infringers they would be MUCH more likely to be successful.
