It was BLDW management's fault either way. They shouldn't have put out the press release unless they KNEW what the story was actually about.

The idea that the station changed the focus of the story mid stream is even worse for BLDW. Think about it. They got sold on a story about alleged great progress in the wind energy business but as they did their research (Due Diligence) they discovered that it's an industry that's in trouble and that the real story is the one they ended up telling. After all, they did an interview with John Graham in front of an idle wind turbine with him admitting that Austin is not a good city for wind energy products.

The problem I tried to point out, lies with management's decision to promote a story they "thought" was a feature on them when it wasn't. This demonstrates bad judgment. If you look at many of the other failures, you see a pattern of the company jumping to announce things prematurely, presumably to hype the stock, only to have subsequent developments blow up in their face. Take the acquisition/non-acquisition of Eco-Wind Solutions. They announced the letter of intent before doing any real due diligence only to have the deal fall apart when they looked a little closer. There was no requirement to announce that... I can only conclude they just did it to hype the stock.

The more I look at this company, the more I begin to think that management may be as much a problem as the current ROI on the turbines.
