Firstly, no one here, (excluding admin) is more qualified than anyone else!

You may not be more qualified but you as the originator of a thread have more power than I. You can delete posts and I can not.

To offer my view point on your last sentence above. I do not know if the Admin. of Ihub would want a board created for the purpose storing removed posts.

Not a separate board. The posts should be left in the original place. Readers choose to read them or not by chosing the filtering option. I think you would be surprised. A good COB could manage a board with the filter tool. Take a small step towards censorship....giving the COB the power to remove any post is a giant step towards censorship. (the COB removing a post and Bob replacing a post is the same as deleting it...who rereads threads?) If the small step isn't enough then build on it.

Some posts could be eliminated. Spam is rather easy to define....the same post to multiple threads. Let the COB mark spam for filtering and let Bob delete it and restrict the poster's privileges.

Profane language is easy to define (sh#t?). Let the COB mark for filtering and let Bob delete it and restrict the posters priviliges.

Personal attacks are more difficult to define. Are any of these personal attacks...You don't know what you are talking about...You are stupid...You're an idiot...You're a moron...You remind me of a moron...you're just like a moron...You are borderline moron...you don't have a clue...

Many COBs may interpret an attack against a position as a personal attack.

Off topic posts are a problem. What do you do when an off topic post contains on topic info? What about an on topic post that contains off topic info? What is considered off topic? What about the poster who has been presenting sound investment advice for months who starts talking about the way he thinks about other things....I want to know how this guy thinks...where she is coming from. There is more to a post than the words...you have to know the person behind the post. Bob can't possibly gain this type of insite...no one can read that much especially if you have to read between the lines.

As far as how it would work with the Next function, I suggest you take this up with Bob yourself

He doesn't even want to consider the idea...his response is pretty much...this is the way it is going to be..trust me I know what is best for you...I will handle the deletions and I will take responsibility for ALL deleted posts...I want what is best for you...I know what I am doing.

I see things differently. If this is supposed to be a user based community then the controls should be with the community. It seems more like a control based community. Without off topic posts and a few heated discussions it will be awful boring. Its trademark will be censorship.
