The essence of Christ teachings is the primary reason why I remained agnostic for so long. But there are just too many inconsistencies between his father and him. Who to follow? the vengeful father or the pacifistic son? Since one must go with the other, I chose neither.

You know, the other religion (I can think of) that shares the same precept of Christ is Buddhism. But Buddha didn't promise a heaven as a reward. Only enlightment of truth and peace. I'm not endorsing Buddhism, just a verbalized thought. There are many inconsistencies in Buddhist dogma as well. Ironic that the two are both pacifists.
