The Plenary Session at the 2012 Chicago Multidisciplinary Symposium in Thoracic Oncology is marked by several new presentations centering on the role of targeted agents in advanced non-small cell lung cancer, as well as updates of trials recently presented at the ASCO Meeting in Chicago in June. . .
At today’s Plenary Session, David Gerber and colleagues report on the results of a randomized phase II, placebo-controlled trial evaluating 2 different doses of bavituximab (1 or 3 mg/kg weekly) in combination with standard docetaxel 75 mg/m2 every 3 weeks. Results are promising, but require phase III confirmation.
Dr. Langer is the director of thoracic oncology at the Abramson Cancer Center and professor of medicine at The Univ.y of Pennsylvania. He will be one of the discussants at the Plenary Session today at 12:30pmCT in Grand Ballroom I-III. *end*
