Zeev, I agree. However, the fetus/baby is alive and it is human. It is actually a living human - not just potentially a living human.

Are you trying to distinguish between "human" and "person"?

Do you agree that the fetus/baby from conception is alive and is human? If so, then you must believe the fetus/baby is not a person.

Do you don't agree that the fetus/baby from conception is alive and is human - then what is it? It can't be dead, so is it then non-human?

Thanks - just trying to clarify. I am a simple person and to me this is a simple issue. The ramifications are enormous, of course (rape, life of mother, tubal pregnancy, etc.), but I think it's much easier to deal with those issues once we know exactly what we are dealing with. Then it's a matter of implementing the "best" policy for the parties involved.
