Re: For the past few quarters AMD has done well in the server market.
Not the mobile market. As Keith has pointed out AMD even lost share in the mobile market. Your statement
"Part of AMD's success comes from them filling orders that Intel can't commit to." is simply wrong.
Do you really think that last quarter's data is relevant when Intel is capacity constrained this quarter? Looks like I was right before when I called you dense. I even mentioned in my last post that Intel wasn't severely capacity constrained last quarter, when Keith's comments would have been relevant. Did you read it? When you look at this quarter's data, you will see a relationship between Intel's capacity problems and AMD's success in the mobile market. Intel had an opportunity to grow only to the point where they ran out of product. The rest will be filled out by AMD, and in terms of market share percentage, they will end up looking pretty good. This will last until Intel ramps 65nm CPUs and has enough 90nm fab space to supplement their chipset volumes with newer products.
Re: And yes I do realize that you never answered the question.
I did answer it, you just didn't like the explanation. It couldn't have been put more clearly.
