Re: This can be all cleared up by you simply telling us what your comment "Part of AMD's success comes from them filling orders that Intel can't commit to." means. Exactly how did this benefit AMD if Intel gained MSS in mobile.
The first part means exactly what it says. The second part has to do with Keith's comments for last quarter, when Intel did not have as severe capacity problems a they did this past quarter. AMD also hadn't ramped Turion, yet, and Centrino was very competitive. This quarter, with Turion selling in more design wins and Intel capacity constrained, I really don't expect AMD to lose market share. In fact, I expect them to gain because Intel could not fill orders. By the way, being constrained in chipsets might as well be the same as being constrained in processors, as far as Intel's mobile platform is concerned. Very few 3rd parties offer competitive mobile Intel chipsets, and even those that do would hardly have the opportunity to enable OEM designs in the short amount of time where Intel can't meet volume. Rather, the sale is likely to go to AMD for most accounts where vendors need to meet demand and don't have enough Intel chipsets to go around.
