Maybe this was due to AMD's inability to deliver something competitive in volume.

So let me make sure I understand you here wbmw. Intel was tight on chipsets for mobile. This benefited AMD by allowing Intel to gain mobile market share(you are brillant!!) The reason why Intel gained share was because AMD did not have anything competitive in volume production. And this makes sense to you?
