Hey LDH! Hope you're doing well.

Interesting Ivolatility report Monday IMVHO....

Our farmer's market image is a reminder there is more than one way to think about seasonality. Unfortunately, for the equity markets the joy of summer delight often turns into despair by Oktoberfest. The seasonal tendency of the S&P 500 Index (SPX) 1411.13 is to peak in late August or early September and then decline until the end of October. In election years, the decline is usually finished by early October followed by an advance into the November election.

While many are enjoying the last week of the summer holiday season we turn our attention to planning for the usual September decline. First in the strategy section, we look at the SPX volatility chart and draw the line on the crude oil advance. Then after checking on a previous volatility trade we turn our attention to a VIX hedge idea, another for gold followed by a homebuilder and last but not least one the social media group.
