GESI, for what it IS???
Can you give us links?
-Great industry
People go in and out of this industry all the time - no correlation to the success of the companny.
No direct correlation, you are right. Is it a great industry? Is it profitable? Why would people come into this industry all the time if it wasn't? There are 100's of millions in subsidies, a value placed on the carbon credits, not to mention what they make off the electricity and bi-product. Why is any industry considered just that, because there is a large market for it.
-Great business model
Can't find a link to the business model - what tech, what corporate structure, etc?
I'll give you this, i don't have a link to their documents. However, if you have read each step they have taken (which i hope you have), then you will be able to determine that they are heading in the right direction. But please, point out where they have made grave mistakes...and don't say "look at their pps" or use some other nondescript rebuke you scrape together.
-Vast knowledge base of industry
Neither officer of the company has any experience in the industry so I don't know where you are coming from here.
Does every CEO/management staff have to be an expert in cooking burgers to run Mcdonalds business? Do the leads at FedEx all know how to plan delivery routes and drive trucks? Does the president of WalMart really shop at WalMart for all of his needs? Does the president of Estee Lauder professionally apply make-up for his staff, does he develop the formulas for their products, does he form and mold their packages, does he chose what lipsticks match their other products? NO! You have to know how to run a business! You have to know how to plan and execute. These gentleman are as capable as Walt Disney was when he decided to develop a theme park (which by the way...he never developed one before his first right?)
-Great relationships already (i dare say "perfect")
You mean the guy in the home office that is trying to sell energy franchises to native Americans?
Yes the guy in his home...whom set up their relationship with OnTrack...This explains, in an easy to understand way, how important the relationship to the feedstock provider is... http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&frm=1&source=web&cd=3&ved=0CDEQFjAC&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.mckinstry.com%2Freference%2Fdownload%2Fid%2F34&ei=TrE3UJKNMI7k6QGxioHYDQ&usg=AFQjCNESgegHFw8vt_y3-1KhWxH1Mhg7Cw
-Government support
A whole $177,500 worth. Others got millions.
Is $177k a gift that you just give away? When you are discussing something of this scale, because no a biomass plant is not a double wide, then you are talking about years of preparing, planning, funding installments and more planning.Others did get millions, yes. Not all at once before they were ready. Not till they were at that step. Prove me wrong.
-Green energy (high demand)
Only if you can produce it economically - no evidence of that that I've seen.
Of course you haven't seen evidence...their plant isn't built. Evidence won't be seen till then, sorry, you got me there. Oh wait...isn;t that what the feasibility study was for? To prove that this was a profitable model and that they had everything thought out and enough "know-how", and solid tech, and EVERYTHING needed to demonstrate that this was worth investing money, space and support in. Ya, i'm pretty sure that's what the feasiblity study was for...
-Great location
We ain't talking real estate here - productivity and expertise are much more important than location.
We ain't being short sighted here either folk. Location is important in almost every business. Oil fields..they are great locations for oil rigs. Suburban areas are great locations for grocery stores. Tourist areas are great locations for Hotels. Why wouldn't a land plot NEXT TO THEIR FEEDSTOCK SUPPLIER AND WITHIN SPITTING DISTANCE OF A GRID TIE FOR THEM TO PUMP THEIR ELECTRICITY THROUGH be a great asset to this type of company? Ahh your right, this isn't real estate, but what company wouldn;t want to save millions on transportation cost?
-Great projections
Projections and three bucks will buy you a latte at Starbucks.
I am not fond of starbucks lattes. Plus i can't have caffeine at the moment...i have an operation coming up. Some other time?
-Proven Tech
I'll give you that one - if you choose the right vendor and if you have competent management to operate the tech.
It's exciting technology, and has a wide range of application.
-Minor funding alreay proven for their feasibility study
Who's doing that study anyhow??? Qualified consultants??
Yes more than likely, it's qualified consultants that the government chose or had a say in chosing before they gave them 177k. It has to be someone outside of the company clearly, but the company still has to provide them with the necessary information. So yes, these were probably qualified individuals that do this for a living. They are numbers guys and tech guys that look at the black and white.
-Open ended growth (module design plant)
Whoa - we haven't seen any competent personnel have we? Who designed the plant? What "proven tech" are they using?
You are right, i haven't met their designers. We won't, not till the plans are complete and the plant is being built. This is to be expected, is it not? Then again when a McDonalds opens up in your town, do you know if it's a corporate location or part of a personal franchise? Do you know what grills they are installing? What type of mirrors will be in the bathroom and what company made those? No, not this it's built and you can go inside and ask those questions or see for yourself. The proven tech is the gasification system they are planning on using. Is that not proven?
-Well conducted and strong management.
Do you have any evidence that anyone in management knows squat about the energy market and gasification tech? We went over this....
-Multiple avenues for income (electric/gas/liquid fuel)
Only if they can produce the above in a profitable fashion and only if the financing deal leaves any crumbs for the common to profit from.
They won't build the plant if they can;t profit from it. They won't get funding if they can't turn a profit. WE can't predict the future, but if they build this plant, i can assure you, it will be profitable. They will also utilize what resources they have to maximize their profits..who wouldnt?
-Outstanding headway already made (for something so extensive)
The only "headway" I've seen is the $50 grand from the one man band. The important questions like who is the real source of the money, is it a real source of money, what are the terms, all of these are unanswered.
If that's all you've seen; look again.
The question is, is it headway or are they just marking time until the pull out the rug and leave the common holding the bag?
I'll hold your bag if you don't see what's to come ( ;
-Etc etc etc
Oh Yeah!!!.....
2 months later this post still gets recognition...Oh yea!!!
