Interesting Target.com phone call...

Ok folks...I have gone back and forth on this all day regarding how to post this info. I AM NOT claiming that AAPT products are going to be at Target - but I will just say that I had a very 'strange' phone call with a Target.com rep last night. Make your own assumptions here.

I originally typed the entire thing out, but I'll just summarize. I know the bashers will have a great time with this either way.

Basically, I have called target.com off and on for the last couple weeks - probably 6 or 7 times. In most cases, I am told that "the product is not available on the website" which I already know since I'm checking it regularly. On one of the last calls I made, the rep told me to call back with a UPC code and they could search for the product BEYOND just in the website inventory (I was driving at the time and did not have a UPC available).

So I called back yesterday evening with the same UPC code that has been posted on this board and got what I think is a very strange reaction. The CSR had to review with his manager and put me on hold for 5 mins (?)… came back and said they were "working toward a resolution" (?)… then 5 more mins (?). Once back he asked…"Um sir, may I ask how you (long pause)… heard about this product?" I told him it was on Amazon and available at TJMaxx and I wondered if they would carry it. A lot of fumbling around until "Ok, well…at this time, the product is not available." I asked if it would be available in the future. His response after several seconds of strange "ums"… "Well, let's put it this way…I wouldn't close the door on that possibility. That's all I can say." Me: "So it might be available in the future?" CSR: "Yes".

Its hard for me to express the tone of this entire phone call, but there is a definite sense that this is not a cut and dry answer for them, and they REALLY would rather not answer questions about it. It sure as heck seems like this UPC pulls up some information in the target.com database but they can't talk about it?
