Bathroom remodel--getting conflicting opinions, so help needed.
One contractor states he usually vents fan to soffit--I thought this was wrong, fan should, at a minimum, vent to a mushrooom cap in roof, and ideally have it's own exhaust in roof.
Second, he wants to use concrete board in shower, claims vapor barrier not needed since not an outside wall. Most sites I've read strongly recommend a vapor barrier in shower/bath, whether as simple as a sheet of plastic or the newer membranes.
Any experiences here?
