Do you think the huge open positions in the QQQ on the Put side will have any effect on the COMPX declines once we are through Max-Pain this week?
The OI in the 25 Put strike going into today was 231,213 with another 38,000 traded today. The Call OI at the 25 strike is 144,000 with 16,000 contracts traded today. The OI at the 24 Put strike is 157,468 versus 24 Calls with OI of 51,000.
The OI at the 23 Put strike is 107,000 versus the 23 Calls with OI of 27,000.
The QQQ 26 strike has OI on the Put side of 30,273 versus OI of 65,625 on the Calls.
The QQQ 27 strike has OI of 31,616 on the Put side and 105,618 on the Call side.
So Max Pain for March is easily 26+.
If we do get the decline to 1225 or there abouts on the COMPX, we should have one heck of a rally around the 12th of March if the WAR isn't delayed too far.
TIA for your thoughts Zeev.
