DD-- I never said that. You have said that Romney is guilty of tax evasion. I have asked you for that evidence. You now admit that your assertion is only an opinion. NOt a fact.
Now you are walking it back to say he is guilty of legally permitted tax avoidance. And you are pushing me to go one step further and say I think it is patriotic.
I have never brought up patiotism.
And I am guessing that you use deductions in your tax returns. Is that considered tax avoidance?
If there was any evidence that the Tax Code should be totally redone, it is that because wealthy individuals have sophisticated (and legal) opportunities to shelter income from taxes that we do not have.
But I think it would be STUPID for anyone in his position to NOT try to minimize his tax bill--legally.
And, BTW, he contributes a HUGE amount of his inocme to charitty. So he goes to great lengths to save money on taxes so he can have more say on where his money goes--government or his charities.
That is smart in my book.
But, again, I support a change in November. I am not a cheerleader for Romney--but I want better economic policies to be championed than the policies we are getting now.
