PCMag: What's in your bag? What technology do you carry?
TA: I carry: a black iPad 2 (32GB); a white iPhone 4S; a Quantum Bio-Protector I for my phone, iPad, and iPhone chargers; Apple earbuds; a 24 Hour Fitness Sony Bloggie Sport video recorder/camera; a portable European converter (for when I'm overseas); a vinyl passport holder with my American and Brazilian passports; a Seatbeltbag wallet with my United Mileage Plus Gold Member card inside (to use at airport lounges); Trade Kaenon sunglasses; a bright orange NBC Today slap-on watch; a blue metal credit card holder that prevents fraud and theft; a Zumo swimsuit in case my luggage gets lost (a water polo player always needs a suit); an IntelliSkin sleeveless shirt and a pair of Incredisocks for plane rides to control posture and blood circulation; the New York Times (my favorite is the Travel section); a few of my 24 Hour Fitness autograph cards in case I encounter a fan; and a single packet of ProAnox supplements.

PCMag: What apps do you use, like, or love?
TA: NFL Fantasy for sports, and Viber and WhatsApp to stay in touch with family and friends around the world. I use Packing, XE Currency, and Airbnb when I'm traveling, plus LocalEats and Locavore because I'm a big foodie.

PCMag: What one piece of technology could you not be without?
TA: My iPhone because it has all of my contacts and because I constantly need to be on the phone to do interviews, organize events, talk to teammates and coaches, and touch base with my agent. I have a Bluetooth earpiece that I always keep in the car because I like to catch up on calls while I'm driving.

PCMag: You're very active on Twitter (@WaterPoloTony). How do you use it and why do you like it?
TA: I find that Twitter is a resourceful way for me to give people a glimpse into my daily life and training regimen. It allows me to effectively reach out to my fan base without spending overwhelming amounts of time in front of a computer or on my phone. The content is short but versatile enough to really encourage genuine interaction and interest.

PCMag: Has your phone ever had an accident in the pool?
TA: Never in the pool but in other situations with water. Once in Italy, I was visiting the beautiful Lago di Garda and excitedly dove into the water without remembering that my phone was in my pocket. Another time I was stand-up paddleboarding in Long Beach and didn't think I would fall off—but I did and my phone was ruined again.

PCMag: Do you use any cool waterproof technology?
TA: Going along with the theme of ruining my phone in water, I now use a Lifeproof case that will protect my phone from any damage. I'm also really into my 24 Hour Fitness Sony Bloggie Sport video recorder/camera that is waterproof up to 5 meters and takes excellent footage. I recently brought it along on a team-bonding boat trip on the Adriatic Sea off the coast of Montenegro and filmed our team cliff jumping from the famous Blue Cave.
