it was reagan. but in lebanon, reagan told the Israelis to leave lebanon and put the marines in to support the Marionites. when the marines were taken out, the marionites were left hanging and got slaughtered. According to the new york city community, the moslems have killed 30 percent of the population of non moslem lebanese every century and they did it again in the 80's, using Arafat and a little intra community infighting. This sounds horrible, but Its what the marionite community says. Just look at the current population numbers by religion in lebanon and compare it today with 1932 when it was founded.

If the US had toed the line and sent in reinforcments, there would be totally different lebanon and no Iranians or Syrians occupying the country. A lot of people would like the syrians and the Iranians to leave, but they are only the remains of the group which has been killed off
