The dollar is not strong because its doing such great things for the US economy. The global economy/monetary system needs to unwind and de-leverage after years of being over leveraged.
Using deflation to describe the economic landscape when the derivative markets are in the quadrillions is like referring to someone thats been impaled as having suffered a minor flesh wound. Inflation and deflation are irrelevant terms when the data released is corrupt to begin with.
Gold is king and always has been. Metals like gold and silver do not suffer from inflation or deflation as their value is constant. The value fluctuations are the fiat supply changing relative to the constant (gold and silver).
