From my prospective,

Posters are looking for a fight.

Differences of Repubs and Dems will always be at odds.
Finding a balance would be an intelligent path to resolve disputes.

The word was used as a noun in the quote and post.

Our National Resolve is short and sweet.
It's titled "The Preamble".........
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

No one man, woman, ideal, philosophy, religion, economics, etc., etc.........

We are free to debate the path but the goal (damn good one, too) is right there in print.
