"This whole Iraq weapons issue is a red herring IMHO. After 12 years of crippling sanctions their economy is a shambles, hundreds of thousands have died, and their military is much weaker than in 1991.
Bush wants to attack Iraq because it is weak and because of its huge oil reserves -- not because of any "threat" That is why so many oppose such a war.
Note how the Bushies back off from confronting North Korea which --unlike Iraq -- has a very strong military."

George...
It never ceases to amaze me that a seemingly intelligent person like yourself could espouse such nonsense and drivel.
Just whose fault is it that "hundreds of thousands" of Iraqi's have died??? Certainly not Bush, nor the US, nor the many other nations that support the sanctions. How about Saddam??? It is he that has taken the money intended for his people and spent it all on weapons and luxury palaces for himself.
As for Bush wanting to attack Iraq for its oil and because it is militarily weak - why not Nigeria??? Why not Lybia or Qatar or Yemen??? Why not Venezuela?? Or many other countries far weaker than Iraq that also sit on a lot of oil. Your argument is not only wrong, it is utterly preposterous. And by the way - by far most Americans are intelligent enough to support Bush's intentions.
As for North Korea, surely anyone with even the slightest hint of common sense knows that you have to treat a nation that has nuclear weapons differently from one that does not. That is one of the strongest arguments for taking out Saddam now.
