You know, I personally don't care so much about off topic, friendly, non-inflammatory dialog on a stock board...as long as it's not excessive.

I agree but of course, by no fault of yours - that friendly talk is ALWAYS the pro mods of the board and if any one else posts ANYTHING that's not off off topic to the subject and was responding to a pro mod multiple friendly posts AND they are negative posters not with the board view they are removed and admin is NOT going to go back a bunch of posts to see that pattern.

So, yea, that always works for balance.
