iamshazzam: You have no honor.
...is this what you think we should worry about? where's the test results? none that I can find...Nothing about the guage of the wires, tests, anything.
You asked the same questions on the other board and I provided the answers for you. The Ikanos products, like the Infineon, Metalink, Alcatel, Centillium and other products that outperform NVEI's claims are real products that are installed in customers' equipment and used every day. They are all standards-compliant products that have been tested to meet the requirements of the standards - otherwise they would not be standards-compliant.
Additionally, Ikanos was the star of the VDSL Olympics held two years ago. Their first-generation products were independently tested by T1E1 against competing products on challenging 26 AWG wire - not the thicker, but rarely used 24 AWG that NVEI's claims are based on. There is plenty of information out there about this for anyone who knows how to spell VDSL.
Somebody show me what they have that NVEI doesn't.
First off, NVEI does not have *anything*. No products. Secondly, *I* showed you a chart that compared the shipping, tested Infineon product to what NVEI claims that Embarq can, maybe, someday do. The infineon product creams Embarq's claims.
Incidentally, Infineon's products also competed in the VDSL Olympics on 26 AWG wire.
Maybe they're talking about that inexpensive fiber.
Yeah, you go right on believing that. You obviously have no idea what VDSL and VDSL2 mean. It is no small wonder that NVEI has taken your money. Ignorant people are easy targets. The fact that you keep defending the people who took your money with these continued ignorant and horribly incorrect arguments just means that you are not man enough to admit you are wrong about this either.
Like I said. You have no honor.
