Just curious Matt, did you get permission to post that? Apologies if you did, but in that case it should say "Posted with permission" or some such. Things look promising here, and I'd hate to see the site get in trouble over something like this.

Yes, many publishers are mercenary morons who don't understand why reposting is often in their best interest.

Yes, I know what fair use is, this isn't it.

Yes, we can sometimes look the other way and say "no harm, no foul" when things are reposted rather than just linked. The standards should be higher for the owner of the site though.

Despite the relatively low levels of morality, fairness, and intelligence of many publishers, and despite the industry's complete unwillingness to face the fair use issues squarely for everyone's mutual benefit, they do have the right to protect their intellectual property as they see fit. It just doesn't pay for a site (which may BTW have some fair use issues for it's own property down the road) to invite trouble by violating those rights.
