I only threw out the goat's milk idea, because it has been on my mind the last couple days, for some reason (ever since I read about the abandoned foals.)

Here's a website of a woman who rescues "nurse mare" abandoned foals. She briefly mentions getting them used to drinking milk from a bucket(rather than bottle feeding}. I've also watched a video about desert Arabians, being fed a diet of camel's milk and dates. (There's no grazing available.) The camel's milk was poured into a large shallow chest-high (to the Arabians) trough. They arched their lovely necks over the feed trough and slurped up the milk and nibbled on dates, grabbing them with their delicate muzzles.

I couldn't find that video, but here's one or two or three, you might enjoy since you own some Arabians. Such fire, delicate grace, beauty and intelligence.

(Once I started watching the Arabians, I didn't want to stop. Mesmerizingly beautiful.)
