Don't know how many posts I have left for the day but here goes......Who's definition of morality are you talking about? Yours is going to be different from mine and mine is definitely different from Pat Robertson's. So, let's just stick with the government following the Constitution only. I believe morality is important but it is a disaster when it is implemented politically. The laws of Leviticus forbid wearing 2 types of cloths together such as leather and cotton. They also forbid women from being in their normal living quarters when she is menstruating. If you are married, are you about to tell your wife to pitch a tent in the backyard while she is on her period due to being unclean? Eating shellfish aka shrimp, oysters etc. is prohibited. Do you see where all this can lead? Don't you see this is a recipe for totalitarianism? Who decides? I think we can all agree that murder is wrong and should be prosecuted. Would you like to see people arrested and prosecuted if they lie? Should people be able to watch pornography? How about R-rated movies? How about alcohol being declared immoral because it can lead to all sorts of social problems like domestic violence, drunk driving etc? After all, the old testament prohibits getting drunk. If you say well, I'm ok with drinking beer and eating shrimp but I wouldn't dare kicking my wife out of the house and I don't like pornagraphy but R rated movies are ok then you choosing to make your own rules. This is fine for your self but it is hypocritical to legislate it. Make your laws for yourself and I will make my own laws for myself. Would you want to throw all the non Christians into Gitmo? I hope all this opens up your mind that things are almost never black and white.
