Very interesting view, to which I can only say I will not be jumping at that sucker's bet 
The Germans can be very stubborn, not to mention practical/frugal. What I have been pondering is Italy. Massive long-term bonds to finance this year, at rising rates, etc. yet something like the fourth largest gold stockpiles, third largest of sovereign stockpiles. It will be interesting to see how that plays out.
