It's pretty easy to get caught up in the stuff. Especially if a tout calls you a liar. At least, in my case that's a serious hot button that gets me going. Look at all the time I spent for short periods arguing with an ex-mmmember over on SI about some of the crap she was spewing.

Message boards are addictive. Anyone that tells you otherwise has never had that monkey on their back. Hell, I'm the most obsessed, addicted one among us! 15 years of this stuff?!? And here I am messaging when I'm supposed to be programming. <g>

For certain kinds of personalities (and I'm one of them), it's just not possible to let a "No, that's not true. You're lying." go unrefuted. It becomes a vicious circle.

These things are, for a LOT of people, just as addictive as crack and it's easy to become obsessed with the interactions and participating in them.

Which is why Matt and I frequently use the "crack" analogy between us. Happy Hour is free samples. As is the whole idea of free posting.

Yes, but would you keep at it 12 hours a day, 7 days a week?

You're a somewhat prolific poster yourself, aren't you? Hmmmm.... <g>
