I had been under the definite impression that iHub was created for stock promotors and that's why the "zero tolerance" for bashers rule existed.

Part of that comes from a label that was affixed to the site in the pre-Bob days: "Basher-free zone". I don't know who affixed that label to it, but if I find out it was Matt, I'm gonna bit-slap him silly next time I see him. <g>

It sounds like you are in favor of more balanced discussions that stay on topic and are free from personal attack. It seems that you might understand that many people who criticize an investment are not "bashing" but may be presenting valid causes for investor concern.

That sums it up nicely.

I would appreciate clarification from you on this as I might be interested in posting some of my verifiable DD on that board from time to time, but would want to avoid the vulgar and massive personal attacks that are waged by so-called "longs" on RB.

I realize that if my posts were not appropriate or if I violated the TOU, I would be subject to termination.

Correct on both counts. I know vulgarity and personal attacks has been a problem there recently, but Matt has stepped in to rectify it.

If your goal is to have a forum where all points of view can be posted as long as they are on topic and within the TOU, it would be good to encourage some rational dissenters and not allow their posts to be deleted just because the moderators don't like them.

My understanding is that Matt has been doing exactly that.

On the other hand, if your goal is to provide a safe haven for longs to be free from ever hearing anything that might threaten the value of theirn investment, I think you should place a disclaimer prominently on the board that lets participants know that it is censored to portray only hype and positive information.

The Filtering tool actually is, IMO, often used "for longs to be free from ever hearing anything..." they don't want to hear. I don't like it but can accept it so long as it's their own foot they're pointing that gun at when they squeeze that particular trigger.

It largely has not been a problem in recent times, as Matt has gotten pretty aggressive about making sure that doesn't happen and he has some tools to help him.
