Agreed. A lot more goes into that HD too. They may get something that the higher end phones can take advantage of. Obviously though a 2 or 3 megapixel camera, or in the case of front facing cameras that would be used for 2 way video: 1.2MP, is pretty tough to make it look better.
I agree with the advertising thoughts too. I also wonder how a company like Skype can't develop a "HD" method of delivering their video with all the resources they have, but this company with allllll their debt and what, 8 total employees can? It'll be interesting. If they do, which I hope they can, it'll be sort of like watching the next huge company (Apple, Microsoft, etc) starting from square one. That's pretty cool if you think back in time and imagine if you followed Microsoft when they were just a few guys with a dream.
