That number represents shares that fall under "fail to deliver".
That means the trades were not completed on both ends. Those trades are usually completed the following day.

While some of that number may be short sells, it usually is a small amount.


IMHO

Remember........ It's better to wish you had bought a
stock, than to wish you hadn't.
