How would we be able to counter these attacks if we all had them on ignore? This is an unfair advantage given to the negative side of any discussion. How do you suggest we counter this situation?
By answering it factually and civilly. No more, no less.
Either contrary posts and posters get answered because they contain facts that need answering or they get ignored because they do not. If they contain facts that need answering, then the case for excluding them from a board becomes problematic, at best.
If the same alleged untrue facts gets posted multiple times, over time, it sure seems like it would be pretty easy to simply cut and paste a prior response as well -- or even more simply, just insert a link to the prior response.
Maybe, 98 percent of the believers could ignore the disfavored and one or two or three could be responsible for answering. You folks could even rotate these duties.
Your response sounds like you want a forum to not only just talk to those with only your view but also have a place where anyone from the outside who reads it only sees one side. I suspect that the latter of those wishes, if I have read it correctly, if the fly in the ointment.
