If you believe it, then you'll have no trouble believing that the United States can't fly U-2 spy flights over Iraq because Iraq won't grant permission for such flights. When did the United States ever need permission to put up spy planes? The other tidbit of Powell's that leaped out at me last week was his assertion, complete with photos, of a terrorist training camp operating in northern Iraq. The photos made it look quite authentic, but somebody should tell Powell that the United States is fighting an all-out war on terror, and anything we spot that looks remotely like a terrorist training camp is going to be blown to smithereens before you can say "Bombs away," particularly when it happens to be in a part of Iraq not controlled by Saddam. http://www.sfgate.com/columnists/sorensen/
