Me neither. I watched ABAT go down. Lost 50% or something in one day. And the stock was already undervalued.

You wouldn't believe some of the crap that was posted by the shorts. Everyone knew it was crap and the Board of Directors never launched an investigation because they probably knew it too.

But there are two problems.
1) 90% of the public doesn't do any DD. So they are easily manipulated. And the shorts did it very cleverly in ABAT's case.
2) Institutions will dump the stock regardless of the truth. Because they are mainly interested in protecting their reputation, NOT make money on behalf of their clients.

It's a huge problem. And the SEC is not helping either even though it is their responsibility to give us markets that we can rely on.

There have been worse cases than ABAT.
Sino-Forest. The Canadian regulator didn't have a clue what was going on. I have never seen a regulator accuse a company of fraud before.
And CEAI. They suffered a lot from damage to their reputation.
