Your experience sounds like mine. As a youth I was a bit suspicious of evolution. Years later, as a practicing engineer I saw thousands of people spend years developing relatively simple computer devices. Only then did I really double over in laughter at the comical idea that something so marvelous as a human being would arise simply from atoms banging around for millions of years.
