One afternoon as I came into the kitchen and my wife was watching her favourite "queen" of afternoon TV show, I heard the "queen" ask a Bishop of a southern mega church if he believed, as she, that there are many ways to God. The Bishop, obviously knowing what side his bread is buttered, agreed and then went on to explain why he agreed and expound on the many ways to God.
Now to me, John 14:6 immediately came to mind; "I am the way , the truth and the life, No one comes to the Father except through Me." No, not many ways to God, only ONE way to God, JESUS.
Later on the mega church leader was trying to explain his use of church funds to maintain a lavish,(plane, home, car, money) life style. Did not get it all but the just of it was that when Jesus feed the 5000 with a few loaves and small fishes, Jesus did not give thanks to have enough but gave thanks to have more than enough. Therefore the bishop thinks we all should have more than enough.
Hard to understand how he can compare the act of Jesus GIVING, from the little He has to help those in need and his act of TAKING from his fellow man for his own personal use.
Yes, there is alot of subtle deception out there and all true believers must read and listen carefully so as not to be deceived.
