Zeev, from the physics of the situation, is it possible that quickly accelerating, spiking and intensive heat build up in the wheel well area (from damaged and overheated tiles nearby) could cause the tire to swell and blow outward from the inside?
I do not find it at all credible that an explosive charge inside the rim of the wheel caused this ... pretty far out on the probability scale to me.
