I am amazed that someone questions the statements of management and wants some sort of independent verification that management is not lying. There are many legal ramifications for individuals in a management position who make deceptive statements. Essentially by claiming that independent verification is needed, one is saying that management is dishonest and lying. Where is the evidence of that? In the U.S. the burden of proof is on the accuser. Please supply your evidence.
